ELPL-COB-VXS Series 50W and 100W LED Light Engines

   The ELPL-COB-VFX series is designed as an entry level, full spectrum, COB for home growing.  Unlike other so-called "full spectrum" LED COBs on the market, the VXS series produces a full spectrum of light from 400nm to 750nm (see comparison graph below).  The VXS Series is ideal for growing both leafy green plants, and flowering/fruiting plants.

The spectral curve has a reasonably close match to the McCree curve (75%), as well as a reasonably close match to the spectrum of sunlight (see graph below).  The VXS series is available in 50W and 100W models to suit the needs of smaller home growing applications - 200W modes are available by special order.
 

Spectrum: The ELPL-COB-VXS Series of light-engines has a reasonably close match to the both the McCree curve and the spectrum of sunlight - closer than any other "full-spectrum" LED COB on the market  The chart below shows the ELPL-COB-VFX Series standard spectrum (as the human eyes sees it - pink line with spectrum), the McCree curve (dashed purple line - set to 75%), along with the PPFD* spectrum (dashed green line), and the spectrum of sunlight (red line set to 90%).

"Full Spectrum" Comparison: The ELPL-COB-VXS Series LED light-engines has a closer match to the McCree curve and the spectrum of sunlight than any other "full spectrum" LED COB on the market  The chart below shows the ELPL-COB-VFX Series standard spectrum (as the human eyes sees it - pink line with spectrum), the McCree curve (dashed purple line at 75%), the spectrum of sunlight (red line at 90%) and the most popular brand of "Full Spectrum" LED COB (black line).

As you can see from the above, the competitors so-called "full spectrum" COB is anything but, as it lacks significant light output in the 475nm to 580nm range, while the VXS series does indeed produce a full spectrum of light from 400~750nm.

The ELPL-COB-BMC series LED COB Light Engine, offers a full spectrum of light from 380nm to 750nm, with reasonably close match to the McCree Curve (85%).  The ELPL-BMC COB light engines will are available in 100W and 200W models.

The McCree curve represents the latest research in plant growing lighting, with a light absorption curve close to that of sunlight.  The McCree curve is ideal for 'full cycle' growing of all different types of plants, both leafy greens and flowering/fruiting plants.

EconoLux ELPL-COB-PAR series LED Grow Light Engine

The ELPL-COB-PF (Par Flowering) type are unique, cutting edge, 24 band (wavelengths), 100 or 200W Watt,  LED grow light-engine with a 95% match to the PAR curve, but with 10% extra Red light for use with flowering or fruiting plants.

The PF model uses an unprecedented 22 different wavelengths of LED chips, along with White and our proprietary B-R (Broadband Red) coated LED chips, for a total of 24 bands. We use only imported (from Taiwan) BridgeLux and EpiLED chips for the best quality and performance.   Careful hand selection of the individual LED chips insures they are within +/- 2% of the nominal wavelength; in combination with custom ordered wavelengths, this provides the closest match (95%) to the PAR curve of any LED plant/grow light product on the market (catalogue available in our Catalogues section).

Spectrum: The COB-100W-PF light-engine has a very close match to the PAR curve (about 95%), the spectrum of light that plants need to grow and thrive. ELPL-PAR Type Light Engines Power Options

The ELPL-COB-P and ELPL-COB-PF are available with 2 power connection options such that it can be powered in two different ways:

1]  The standard power supply arrangement is via the two 'Pads' integrated into the COB (see diagram below).  This is suitable for installation into fixtures where the power wires are fed through the heat-sink from below. With this option, the whole COB comes on at once.

2]  The COBs can also be supplied with the side rails connected (see diagram below).  This allows for the rails to be cut so that the COB can be operated in 'split' mode with one 60W driver for the blue, and one 40W driver for the red portions of the COB.  By using dimmable drivers, you can control the Blue/Red ratio of the light output.
